Pros

- Animated characters
- New tokens and spaces
Cons
- Changes are hard to get used to
- Can't turn off animated characters
Play the classic Monopoly board game with new and old pieces against the computer or others who are online.
The design of the game is highly detailed and stunning. Fun sounds are featured while you're playing, such as noises that each token would make in real life and the sound of rolling dice. Begin the game as you would if you were playing on a table. You get a certain amount of money and get to choose the token that you want. The new version of the game features a few different tokens than what you're accustomed to, but some of the older ones are available as well. The spaces on the board are the same as the original game, but the details are striking. The colors are brighter, and there is a hint of gold along the border.
One of the changes that you'll see is that the railroads have been replaced with the names of popular airports. The tasks and situations on the cards have changed as well so that they are a bit more modern. The utility spaces have been changed to paying interest on a credit card and paying cell phone fees. The game features the same main spaces, such as Boardwalk and Park Place. When you want to buy a property, you'll notice that the amount you have to pay has changed to correlate with what you might have to pay at today's prices. The pieces in the game are animated, and there are a few characters that assist with the game as well. If you don't want to listen to the music or the sound effects, you can turn them off while playing. There are auctions on properties that aren't purchased right away, giving each player a chance to have at least one property in the game.

Enter the Dynamic World of Monopoly
For fans of Monopoly, this game needs little introduction. For decades Monopoly has been one of the most popular board games in the world and has been enjoyed by generations of game lovers.
The game concept and strategy of Monopoly Here & Now is very similar to the original board game. Players move around the board to try and capture property, complete sets and build on their new land. When players land on the property belonging to their opponents they have to pay rent, and the object of the game is to force the other players to become bankrupt and be the last player standing.
The classic board game really comes to life with its 3D graphics and bright colours. The graphics and simple strategy is sure to appeal to people of all ages and just like the original this is a great family game. The rules are fairly easy to understand and players have the option to customise the rules at the start of the game to create their own tailor made version that helps to make it even more enjoyable. There are three difficulty settings, so people who have honed their skills can enjoy an extra level of challenge if they wish, while younger players can get a lot out of the easiest setting.
One of the downsides to playing the board game is that each game can last for several hours. This can be a problem in the modern world where people have busy lives and it might be necessary to abandon the game without completing it. This problem is solved with Monopoly Here & Now, as players can simply save their progress and return to the game another time. you can even select how long the game will last at the very start, making it possible to simply play a quick game if you are short on time.
There is no need to waste time setting up the board, keeping track of pieces and working out how much things cost. The game does all of this for you, allowing you to simply focus on the action of playing.
Monopoly Here & Now is created as a world version, and the pieces represent popular elements from around the world such as Russian Nesting Dolls, the Easter Island Statue and Japanese Sumo. Players can skip around the world to visit famous locations in cities such as Tokyo, New York and London.
The game experience is very high quality and the game runs smoothly throughout. Some players may find the game music rather annoying at first. However, there are lots of different tracks to choose from and you can turn off the music entirely if you prefer. The sound effects can also be turned off, although they do add an extra dimension to the game. Short and simple animations pop up from time to time such as when a player gets sent to jail or lands on their opponent’s property and has to pay a heavy fine.
Purests may miss the ability to actually hand their game pieces and money. However, there are so many great benefits of playing Monopoly Here & Now on the computer that more than make up for these limitations. The game has brought the game to a whole new generation of gamers and makes it more accessible than ever before.
